who is Cecilia ray?

A Lighter View is an independent online magazine owned by E. Cecilia Ray and managed under her parent company, Gems of Gaia. Cecilia is the publisher and chief editor. She holds a Master's in Education and has taught in the public schools and the personal development field. She founded and owned Vision Quest Educational Center and Bookstore in Everett from 1995 to 2005. Her background includes a variety of trainings and business ownerships.  She is now working with writers and businesses to serve the creative, spiritual and holistic community with this magazine.

Subscription:  When you fill out the subscription form, you will be added to our monthly magazine email list. The list may receive a limited number of promotional flyers during the month. If you do not want to receive the flyers, leave a comment "Magazine Only" in the feedback box. We do not sell or share our email address list.

We encourage feedback on our magazine. Feedback may be left in the Feedback box. We will respond when it is needed in a timely manner.


When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we retain your data AND YOUR RIGHTS

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
